At VIS we believe students learn best and develop their own unique understandings and knowledge of the world when they are actively participating in and taking responsibility for their own learning through inquiry. On a daily basis, students at VIS are participating in a variety of activities and assessments that are designed to engage and encourage them to take the lead in their own learning.
In all three programs, the inquiry learning cycle is used as the basis for both the design and the implementation of classroom teaching practice. Inquiry requires students to be more involved in the classroom activities and promotes a high degree of interaction between students and the teacher as well as between the students themselves.
